Winding away

How or do you wined your dmc. I use the plastic bobbins and used to use the dmc stickers but find that they fall off. So now any new floss I buy I cut the number and tape it to the bobbin. I saw this on another blog and love it. This way I use all my older floss top before the newer since I acquired all my grandmothers and moms floss

  1. I started doing this last year after seeing it on vonnas blog. It is so much better without the stickers falling off.

  2. I just use an ultra fine point sharpie to write the number on the side opposite the hole. I find it much faster than trying to cut and tape the number.

  3. I use the DMC stickers and haven't had a problem with them falling off - hope I don't open my box one day and find them all unlabeled ;-)

  4. My DMC stickers started falling off too so now I do the same thing you do. It works much better and I don't get frustrated anymore from the stickers falling off!

  5. I take the longest sleeve from the floss/silk, which has the number on, I lay it flat on the plastic bobbin and I wind the floss/silk over it, the number shows at the end so you can see the colour, the thread keeps it in place. When you have finished using all the thread on the bobbin, you put the sleeve piece with the number on in your purse and you know what to replace when you are shopping.

  6. I started doing this also this past year. Those DMC stickers just never stick. This is a great idea :)

  7. I've always cut off the number from the floss skeins and tape them on to my bobbins. I think we have different bobbins though, coz the ones I have has a space for the numbers and the hole on the corners instead of the middle. You can lookit in my blog if you like. :)

  8. Hello

I use bobbins, either cardboard or plastic and write or stick the number on like you have above.

Hope you have a great week.

  9. I write the number with a thin nipped Sharpie. Never fades and I can reuse the same bobbin for the same color over and over. :)
